Used bit in good clean working order, includes wifi dongle
The Cocktail Audio X10 is a new type of device that contains many functions within one, compact casing. In a nutshell, the X10 has the following functionality.
1. Built-in CD player
2. Built-in 500gb hard drive, upgradable to 2TB
3. Built-in 60 watt amp
4. Networking and music streamer
5. Internet radio and recording
6. USB host for connecting an iPod/iPhone or MP3 player
7. Line input for recording analogue sources
8. Line and optical outputs plus headphone socket
9. 3.5″ colour screen and full remote control
BANISH YOUR CDS AND CLAIM BACK YOUR SHELVES!
Using a built-in 500gb hard drive the X10 can rip your CDs in a choice or formats. Mix sound quality with storage space by choosing between MP3, FLAC, OGG or WAV encoding options. MP3 will give you the most storage capacity but is the lowest quality. WAV and FLAC are the highest quality but take up more space – especially WAV. OGG is a good compromise between the others.
BRING OUT YOUR CASSETTES, LPS AND ANY OTHER RECORDINGS YOU MAY HAVE!
Thanks to a line input you can copy all manner of audio sources and store them on the hard drive for ease of access.
LISTEN TO INTERNET RADIO AND STREAM FROM OTHER DEVICES
As standard, the X10 comes with a LAN connection for connecting to your home network hub. As an option, you can get a USB wi-fi dongle. Once connected you have access to literally thousands of Internet radio stations. You can also access stored music on your laptop, home PC or other device connected to your home network. Where the X10 really excels is in its ability to record Internet radio – an option not available on most music streamers.
HOOK UP YOUR IPOD/IPHONE OR OTHER USB DEVICE
Listen to music stored on your portable device by connecting it via USB. Furthermore, you can also record from the hard drive to your MP3 player.
BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER WITH EASE AND CLARITY
With so much functionality, it’s good to know that the X10 makes it all accessible. Provided your X10 is connected to the Internet, recorded CDs are automatically labelled via FreeDB. For other sources, it’s easy to manually enter artist and track information. Once you have created the database it’s easy to scroll through it using the clear 3.5″, full colour display. For ease of operation you can search by title, artist, album, year or genre.
UPGRADE THE HARD DRIVE CAPACITY
As standard, the X10 comes with a 500gb hard drive. That’s enough to store hundreds of CDs (the exact number is dependent upon the encoder used). However, in the unlikely event that you should ever run out of space, the 3.5 inch SATA hard disc is demountable and replaceable. Currently, the largest possible disc size is 2TB but this is likely to increase in the future.
WELL CONNECTED
With a built-in 60 watt amplifier, you can simply connect up some speakers and you’re ready to go. Alternatively, use the line output or digital optical out to connect the X10 via your existing hi-fi. There are also twin USB hosts on the rear letting you connect a wi-fi dongle AND USB media device. Finally, a headphone socket completes the comprehensive socket line up.
Add the X10 to your existing hi-fi and experience true multi-media audio or use it on its own with a pair of speakers for the ultimate mini system. Either way, the Cocktail Audio X10 gives a taste of the future.
