Before reading further, please be aware that due to the size a weight of these speakers, this listing is strictly for collection only from Somerset UK. I do not have suitable boxes, so I cannot accept any courier collection. Please do not bid if you are unable to come and collect them yourself.
I have for sale my Bowers & Wilkins DM603 S2 floor-standing speakers.
I’ve owned them for about 5 years now, having bought them second hand from their original owner. There’s plenty of reviews out on the internet if you want to know what they’re like, but I would describe the sound as punchy and ‘velvety’ – not the most refined top-end, but a balanced sound with a very accurate sound-stage and very easy to listen to.
I would however advise against bidding for these speakers unless you have a pretty beefy amplifier setup, as these speakers are big and really need to be driven to get the best out of them (I for example have been bi-amping them with a pair of Arcam Alpha 9Ps, which are rated at 75W per channel).
They are used, but in excellent condition for their age. The cones and tweeters are all working and undamaged, as can be seen in the photos. The cloth covers are also in excellent condition.
The black ash boxes are also in very good condition for their age – the only flaws are some slight damage to one rear top corner of each speaker (both shown in the photos), but this is very minor and hardly noticeable when the speakers are setup.
The speakers come with their original spikes.
I have no boxes for these speakers and they do not come with any speaker cable.
I have been using the speakers in a bi-wired configuration, but have re-fitted the connectors to allow them to be used with a single connector cable (shown in photo 7).
Selling due to upgrade (I love the punch of the 603s so much, I upgraded to the 683s which are very similar, but with more punch and more refinement… at a much increased price)
I would prefer cash on collection if possible please.
