B&O Beogram 1000 Beautiful, Classic Turntable+ Original Cartridge. See PhotosOften this picture ofprettiness hides the fact that behind this is some exceptional quality Danish engineering. This truly is an excellent, Classic, audiophileturntable. B&O often did not get the recognition it deserved, someconsidering their products to be lifestyle items more focused on looks thanaudio quality. This especially for their vintage range, is very far from the truth. As we discoverd happens very often this turntable was used with aMarantz RS-2253 receiver, and in this case via Castle Stirling speakers – and sound was simplymagnificent! It would rate quite easily among really high end units, certainly as goodas some Linn and Thorens pieces. Sound isrich but also elegant, gentle and controlled, certainly very good whenplaying light jazz or classical music. *The cartridge/stylus combo are in themselves hugely expensiveinclusions just Google or check eBay.com. Cosmetic condition of this unitis excellent. The dust cover is in good condition, the plinth is almostunmarked and the platter + platter matt are in excellent condition too – SeePhotos. *Please upon receiving, remember tore-adjust arm weight and anti-skating if necessary (Very easy but have a radiorepair shop do if required).SEE BANG & OLUFSEN WEBSITE:-https://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=264**Beogram 1000: superbly designed, tastefullystyled. The turntable and overall design was by Jacob Jensen; the tonearm andMMC cartridge principle was by Erik Rrbk Madsen. Beogram 1000 was therecommended turntable for Beomaster 1000. This player has extremely low vibration andrumble – a decisive feature for playback of stereo gramophone records, due tothe fact that the stylus must be sensitive to vibrations in all directions. The Beogram 1000 has antimicrophonicsuspension that takes up acoustic and mechanical vibrations from the supportand prevents the stylus from leaving the groove. In practice, this means thatmechanical vibrations from the support or from persons walking or dancing infront of the Beogram 1000 cannot make the stylus jump in the groove. Suchvibrations will be absorbed in the antimicrophonic suspension and will notreach the turntable or the pickup. Equipped with the world-famous B&OST/L-15 pickup unit; heavy turntable designed as a stroboscope disc; built-inhydraulically damped pickup lift operating y means of a rocker button.Specially engineered speed selector (78, 45 and 33.3 rpm); built-in specialcentre insert for 45 rpm records.*REVIEWS – richardsradio-A design icon of the late 1960s-pinkfishmedia – Beobloke: It’s a very sweet little deck indeed and Iwould personally restore it, keep it original and enjoy it. It takes theearlier cylindrical B&O SP series cartridges and these do have replaceablestyli, unlike the later variants, so the usual “you have to buy a newcartridge when your stylus wears out” caveats about B&O decks do notapply with this model.-theartofthesound – Firstly, yes, it looks nice but those sleek exteriors hide some very clever technologywhich is generally very well built. B&O have always excelled at thetechnical side of things but their aim with all of this has never been toproduce the ultimate sound, rather the best combination of sound, style anduser experience.Note: This item carries invisible security markings, inside and out.
