Avondale Audio 821 Pre Amp Cards for Naim Or Stand Alone Pre Amp
I used these boards in a stand alone pre amp with a stepped attenuator and an Avondale TPX Power Supply. The result was very good indeed! I used this with some ATC 150asl active speakers and a very nice CD player (Musical Fidelity Nu-Vister, upgraded by John who dose all the MF stuff. Outstanding)
Anyway the way forward with the ATCs was to use a balanced pre amp so I picked up an ATC pre for the job. (Makes sense).
I took the Old Pre Amp apart for storage more than anything else and boxed up the 821 cards thinking they are a good thing so I will keep hold of them. 3 years later they have not moved so I guess someone use use them?
They are known to be a massive step up on the Naim cards as is all of Avondale kit is. IMO
The cards have been soldered in so the clips have solder on them, please see pictures. If it was me I would always solder them in, as a sloppy push fit joint in both the signal and supply rails can not be a good thing. Again IMO
Anyway I hope someone can make use of them rather than them sit in a box.
