This is a pre-production model (released for review) of what was later renamed the Evolution 100, recently professionally refurbished by Amp King.
The Aura Evolution uses MOSFET transistors and is renowned for its great detail in mid-range, clean bass and sweet treble, with excellent stereo separation. Check it out on Audioreview.com.
It has a phono pre-amp so perfect for classic vinyl decks, and two sets of output connectors (beefy gold-plated ones) for running bi-wired speakers.
High quailty speaker cables and well-controlled speakers will give you the best results.
It’s rated to 60W but it has smaller vents than the production version, so I would recommend not using this for extended periods at high volume.
It fills my living room comfortably (running my Heybrook HB2s) set at about 40%.
It’s a lovely amp which I’m only selling because at the start of lockdown one output transistor failed and my local repair shop was shut. I spotted Amp King’s upgraded version for sale and bought one, then got him to refurbish and partially upgrade this. It was a difficult choice which one to keep but his is just slightly tighter and even more controlled – which you might expect for an extra 200 over what this is worth.
