Time to downsize my collection, this cart is very, very good indeed. if it wasn’t a mismatch for my main arm I would have kept it.

I have bought a brand new AT33 to be fitted on my EPA 500 tonearm, which is mounted on my SP10MK2. I have had many carts, ranging from Denon to ZYX & Lyra, but without a doubt this is one of the finest carts so far. Granted, the ZYX and Lyra perform very well, but were at least triple the amount I paid for the A/T33 (which retails around 800 Euro.)

This cartridge is just superb in the way it translates the music, very smooth with amazing detail, great base, and good mid range. This is the best cart I have ever heard

Will give the AT33 a 9/10 as it is not quite up to my Kontrapunkt b (NZ$2400). A delightfully smooth, detailed and quiet cartridge

Compared with Denon 103R the AT’s had much more defined sound & compared with few other cheaper ones ( Ortofon Samba)

After auditioning 20 or so carts over the past 3 years, I have finally found my perfect sound! This replaces 304, comparison this cart sounds very full & more musical.

I made the A/T-OC9 MC Reviewers Choice a couple of years ago, & I stand by that assessment. But the 33, despite costing $300 more, ratchets up all the strengths of the OC9 another notch.

I’ve had both the OC9ML/II & AT33E, both loaded at 100 ohms with my iPhono. The 33 looks like a downgrade on paper due to it’s stylus cut and cantilever. And while I feel the OC9MLII is a fantastic value, the 33 is definitely a step above. It’s more refined, & not by a small amount. Highs are smoother, voices more realistic. The 33 also seems to track slightly better.
