Verdict: Absolutely first class phono stage that offers scale, detail and emotion – all underpinned by an authoritative bass.

– no gain or load adjustment.
Great care has been taken in the design to ensure accurate RIAA EQ and phase response, and is fully discrete (ie there are no ICs in the signal path).
The MC1 is a solid state class A, zero feedback phono stage with 67dB gain (generally outputting in the region of 2v line level) and it is designed to work with cartridges of 100 ohm impedance. However, it is more than happy with units of significantly more or less than this figure.

Note also the high quality WBT Next Gen input and output RCA jacks.
This is one of the original one box units and it became available later as a two box unit with an outboard power supply, with the same specifications.
