A pair of vintage Acoustic Research speakers that have been looked after correctly and are in good condition. The bass driver ( woofer ) foams have been renewed.
Sound Note : The 8S was introduced as one of a number of speakers in the ‘S’ series which included the 18S the legendary ‘nearfield monitor’…the 8S was fitted with the identical driver and crossover network as the 18S so produces a similar sounding clear delivery.
The difference between the two is minimal mainly in the bass register as a result of a slightly smaller cabinet volume.
This pair have good cabinets with repaired chip damage to the vinyl casing so the opening bid value has been reduced to reflect the repairs.
