Technics TOTR tuner
reasonably decent cosmetic condition, see photos, some marks, inc 2 small ones on fascia
(these marks can be touched up with a mettalic marker pen of right colour, it works well on these brown mettalic series models, ive not done so as i don’t want buyers thinking im hiding the imperfections )
sides and back are good, scratches on the top
sounds superb, one of the best i’ve ever heard
ive owned this for over 20 years but it has drawn a short straw as it very rarely gets used
very underated model, curently a bargain sleeper tuner in my opinion
people often pay over twice as much for lesser models
very good sensitivity
very low noise floor
Top Of The Range Tuner
no fancy gimmicks or features , just the best sound quality Technics could build
the pink noise generator (test tone for recording) does not seem to be working,
the most expensive tuner Technics ever made 600 us dollars in 1979
an optional timer exists for this tuner called SH 9038 (not included) and that was priced at additional 600 usd
although vintagetechnics have it as MSRP 550 usd (see below )

has a good bright VFD display, unlike most that have faded due to many years of prolonged usage
incredibly heavy for its size
i took a photo of inside by removing the bottom covee, but you can only see the underside of one of the circuit boards
i didn’t attempt to remove the lid, which is actually cast alloy and integral with the front panel
it also has 2 transformers.
mains plug may not be included, and may be removed before posting
this makes packing easier, and also as most quality audio gear sells abroad the buyer is unlikely to be wanting a UK plug
cash on collection is also OK
