NEC P325E SEMI-AUTOMATIC BELT DRIVE TURNTABLE ST-10J moving magnet cartridge in removable SME type headshell.Good quality, 1980s Japanese made turntable. Pressed alloy platter with thick composite mat. All auto functions are mechanical and driven by the platter though a cog operated by the switch gear or tonearm trip. Platter mounted on bearing in moulded top-plate along with tonearm. Output leads to RCA/phono plugs with groundwire. All in good working order. Deck itself is in excellent cosmetic condition, plinth is virtually unmarked, except for two spots where lid rubbers have marked the front corners. Lid is mainly good but has a few scratches and scuffs.Easy set up: balance tonearm by screwing counterweight along the tonearm stub. When balanced, set the calibrated ring at zero and turn the counterweight to the desired tracking weight (1.75-2.25g). Turn the antiskating dial to the same measurement. Alignment and offset will be set for you before dispatch.Semi-auto: moving arm to platter switches motor on, lifts and returns at end of a side and motor cuts. Reject during play returns the arm to rest and cuts the motor. Speed selection achieved by derailleur moving belt up or down a stepped motor capstan. Used stylus is in good condition.
