This classic Dual CS 505-3 belt drive turntable is in full working order and in very good cosmetic condition for its age. In its price bracket, this was one of the finest turntables produced in the 1980’s and it sold in considerable numbers so most will know its reputation already. It has a black ash wood veneered plinth, floating metal chassis and is fitted with an ultra low mass, aluminium, tubular tonearm and a lightweight, carbon fibre headshell. The tinted perspex lid has some scratches, mainly fine ones from polishing over the years, but no cracks and still looks presentable (I have tried to capture the scratches in some of the photos). Fitted with Stereo Left/Right RCA cables and earth grounding wire (for connecting to ‘Phono’ sockets and earth screw on amplifier), and a UK 3 pin plug.This deck is semi-automatic, in other words the arm has to be manually placed over a record but will automatically switch of the motor and raise the arm at the end of a record.Prior to listing the deck was given an overhaul so it would continue to provide many more years of reliable service. This included cleaning the spindle and replacing the oil, as well as cleaning all contacts and moving parts. The drive belt and toothed, pitch adjustment belt are fairly new and still have plenty of life left in them. It is fitted with its original Ortofon cartridge and an Ortofon DN165E elliptical stylus.From a smoke-free home. I am experienced in packing fragile items. Transit locking screws will be secured for shipping and the platter and counterweight will be removed prior to packing so they do not become loose in transit and damage the stylus or lid. A copy of the original instruction manual will be included in the sale to help in re-assembly and setting up the tracking weight. Turntable will be well protected with expanded polystyrene foam corners and bubble wrap, padded with air packets for shipping in a strong box and sent by tracked and insured courier service. Item will be fully insured for loss or damage. I will accept returns but only if you feel the item has not been accurately described or it has been damaged in transit. Item must be sent back to me in its original packaging so please retain it all if there is a problem.
