Fully working, serviced and tested Quad 33 stereo preamp.
Original, unmodified electronics, with removable Tape and Disc adapter boards at rear can be set up for moving coil or moving magnet cartridges. Can also be modified/upgraded if required (search online for service agents). Serviced twice by Quad, and used only occasionally since life/redecorating kept getting in the way! Kept boxed and stored whilst upgrading house electrics in 2010. Was used with my Quad 405 power amp and Rega Planar deck with Mission 774 tonearm to B&W DM602 speakers. Epic sound! Reason for sale? Have now bought a Quad 44 preamp!

Description
The Quad 33 buttons select between turntable pickup, radio tuners and tape deck inputs, and outputs to the loudspeakers via a power amplifier. Power to two other components of the hi-fi setup can be piggybacked off the preamp using 2-pin plugs. Comes supplied with short 3-pin mains lead to upgraded kettle-type adaptor.
Outputs stereo or mono, on either or both channels, from all inputs. Dials control bass, treble and slope filter. Four buttons can be used to control high-frequency cutoff, reducing surface noise, distortion and similar shortcomings in the range of the recording. The Quad filter system achieves this to a very fine degree without intruding unnecessarily into the harmonic range so essential for realistic reproduction.
May be used freestanding or cabinet-mounted, using standard Quad-style rack system.
