I’m selling a pair of the beautiful and stunning Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-280F floorstanders in near-mint condition. I found these in storage at my office and they had only been listened to once. I was planning to keep them but my flat is too small for these to shine. These are gems though, with the new enhanced hybrid cross-section Tractrix horn (starts conical, finishes in Tractrix profile) and really low distortion LF drivers, they sound extremely detailed and full-bodied. These are proper serious speakers at a fraction of the price of other European brands. They get away with it through the cabinet in my opinion, which is not really great (thin walls and cheap terminals), but who cares? The drivers are properly engineered and that’s easily 80% of a speaker’s performance. The bass in these speakers is the best thing, very deep, clean and punchy, never overloaded or distorted, even at high volumes (and they go LOUD).
Some key features:
Dual 8″ Cerametallic cone woofers: means they’re rigid, light, and really clear-sounding1″ Titanium vented tweeter with linear travel suspension (LTS): means again really rigid, really light and really low harmonic distortion32 Hz-25 kHz Frequency Response (+/- 3dB): no need for a subwoofer in my opinion, as in a normal room and position they will go down to 20 Hz with a bit of attenuation98 dB @ 1 metre at 2.83V Sensitivity: you can even power them with a small stereo amp
