This is a late fifties “BUSH” record player that has been fully serviced and is offered in full working order and good, clean condition throughout.
It has a THREE VALVE AMPLIFIER, with separate controls for ON / OFF / TONE & VOLUME. All of the original HUNTS capacitors have been replaced for reliability and this now sounds exactly as it would have done when new with a LOUD sound (ample volume in reserve) and what a sweet sounding record player it is. Very enjoyable to listen to, not surprisingly so as BUSH were one of the most popular manufacturers of the time and this certainly should not be confused with the modern BUSH players which are not proper BUSH at all!!!
It has a simple to use four speed record deck. Just pull back the arm to start it turning and place the arm on the record yourself. The turntable shuts off automatically at the end of the record. I have replaced the original tired motor mounts and re-lubricated the motor. It plays 16 / 33 / 45 / 78 rpm (any size) and is capable of playing new vinyl as well as original as I have fitted a stereo compatible BSR X5M cartridge and this also comes with a new stylus.
Cosmetically, I have cleaned it inside & out and it looks very nice indeed; a few scuffs from age and a patina of age to a degree but on the whole it really does look nice. You don’t see these early BUSH models very often any more and if you do they very often don’t work so this is a good opportunity for a collector or a record enthusiast alike to enjoy their records the right way.
