Pioneer PL-30-k Fully Automatic Turntable with Goldring MM Cartridge and built in Phono Stage for connection to any aux / line input.
The turntable has light use and is in excellent order cosmetically and mechanically with no major marks at all and only minor dusting rings on the perspex lid and is a sleek looking and excellent record player. It is super easy to use and will give the user a good insight into the enjoyable world of Vinyl record replay. More pics and cartridge details to come.
One of the keys to good sound quality with any turntable is precision design and construction and the Pioneer PL-30-K distinguishes itself very well amongst budget record players. The double-layered chassis with 4mm metal base plate gives it great rigidity and mass damping to resist and absorb vibrations helping to reduce distortion and creating a purer sound. The precision-built aluminium platter offers decent mass and precise balance for speed and stability. Helping to keep the sensitive tone-arm isolated from the rest of the turntable is a die-cast mounting block.Although the emphasis is very much on sound quality the PL-30-k is still easy to use. Its a fully automatic design so the tone-arm not only returns to its base at the end of the record but also moves to the start of the record and lowers itself all at the touch of a button.
The PL-30-k comes with an upgraded far superior Goldring Elektra MM (Moving Magnet) cartridge that is in very good condition with only about 40 hours playing on it plus a spare styli for more damaged records or less good pressings. Thanks to the built-in RIAA phono stage its possible to connect the turntable straight up to any Hi-Fi system with an Aux input – no further RIAA phono stage is required. This Goldring cartridge sells for around 65 and is very good build quality and excellent sounding, this should last quite some time before needing a replacement with good condition records.
