Sonos One – Smart Wi-fi Speaker
I am selling my Sonos One speaker in black. The speaker works perfectly and comes in the original box with all the standard accessories – plug, ethernet cable and quick start documentation. There are no marks on the speaker anywhere. I am selling it because though I do use them they are in the same room as my soundbar which can also play my music. Therefore I think these are a little superfluous for my current needs. I have had this speaker set up as part of a stereo pair and am selling them both (separately) – this listing is for one of those speakers.
In order to use the speaker you do need the Sonos application, this is available for smartphones, tablets and also there is a desktop version. Please check you can get one of these prior to purchasing otherwise you will not be able to utilise these speakers. Set up is easy. You open the application, select the speaker, connect it to your wi-fi network and away you go. The speaker will connect to your music streaming service allowing you to play music directly from the application. It also supports Spotify Connect and Airplay 2 meaning you can play music through the speaker directly from those applications. The Sonos One has got Amazon’s Alexa assistant built in giving you the functionality of one of their devices directly from the speaker. You can also use it to ask the speaker to play music with your voice, though I think this is limited to Amazon Music and Spotify other services do not support this feature. Therefore if you use something else you can only ask Alexa to play, pause, skip, change the volume etc. You can use the speaker as an alarm and set a sleep timer if you want to listen to music while falling asleep. There are also some touch capacitive buttons on the top of the speaker meaning you can physically control it too.
If you have an Apple iPhone or iPad during the set up process you can tune the speaker which is a relatively simple process and adjusts the sound to the positioning of the speaker to the room it is in. As far as I am aware this feature is not available on any other platform and so if you use one of those you will need to make do with the standard factory set sound – which is perfectly acceptable.
The key selling point of Sonos is the ability to connect it to other Sonos products either in the same room or throughout your house. You can use a second Sonos One to use them as a stereo pair which separates the sound creating a broader soundscape. In addition I believe if you have one of the Sonos soundbar / bases you can use these as part of a surround system for your TV.
I will reset this to factory settings and remove my Alexa connection from it. Therefore when you receive it the speaker will be good to go.
I will post this the next working day after I receive payment via ParcelForce 48 and update you with the tracking reference when it is on the way. I am afraid the postage cost is quite high because the speaker is heavy and bulky.
